NYH Property is the property maintenance department of NY Highways, delivering the responsive property maintenance contract exclusively for North Yorkshire Council.
NYH Property officially launched on 1 February 2026 and in the first phase, the department’s focus is on:
- Building a strong team – recruiting well and supporting new starters.
- Setting up clear processes – establishing systems for reporting, prioritising and monitoring work.
- Managing high demand – maintaining service levels across a large property portfolio.
- Bringing more work in‑house – improving responsiveness and value for money.
Collaboration is central to the department’s success – open communication and joint project working is helping the new team to integrate smoothly with existing NY Highways and council services.
Looking ahead, the aim is to grow a skilled in‑house team capable of delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, reducing reliance on external contractors and improving efficiency, quality and long‑term value.
