In September, work concluded on Sutton Bank on the A170 between Helmsley and Thirsk, with the schedule and week-long road closure managed by NY Highways.
The scheme takes place annually to ensure that Sutton Bank remains structurally sound, with extensive works carried out on the rockface to prevent rock falls. Below are some photos which show some of the complex work that took place.
This year’s work also saw a winter weather station camera replaced after it was hit by a vehicle in March, as well as repairs to the crash barrier.
