NY Highways are thrilled to announce that they have been shortlisted for two awards at the upcoming Highways Awards 2023!
Both awards recognise NY Highways’ work with Connected Enviro Net and Pye Management on the development of a carbon counting tool which measures the amount of carbon used in road maintenance works.
The tool is believed to be a first for the highways industry, providing the information to local authorities’ highways departments and highways maintenance businesses to help them improve their carbon footprint.
The carbon counting tool has been recognised in the following categories at the Highways Awards:
- Steve Berry Highways Authority Innovation Award – This award will be given to the authority that best demonstrated how their approach and innovation has allowed them to develop a project or scheme that delivers measurable and sustainable benefits to the community and the authority.
- Environmental Sustainability Award – This award is given to an organisation, highway authority or partnership that is able to demonstrate consideration of environmental issues within a project.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on 11 October 2023.
These nominations make it a total of five awards NY Highways have been shortlisted at since 2022. This is an incredible achievement for a relatively new company that was only established in June 2021.
