NY Highways invested in a Bobcat Skidsteer loader earlier in the year, with the vehicle helping to make improvements to the efficiency and quality of road maintenance projects.
Bobcat is the world’s best-selling skid-steer loader brand for the construction industry and the vehicle has proved itself to be agile and durable onsite, aiding the quick completion of jobs.
The Skidsteer takes a range of attachments, ranging from planers, sweepers, buckets to concrete mixers, pumps and breakers, making it a versatile machine for the range of projects that NY Highways are involved in on a daily basis.
In addition, the arrival of the vehicle has contributed to the upskilling the workforce, some of whom have successfully undertaken training to drive and operate the machinery.
Ashley Beecroft, Operations Manager for Area 6, says: “It’s great to see NY Highways investing into new equipment and machinery as it allows us to deliver a higher standard of jobs across the network.
“The new Skidsteer has already had a positive effect on our workload, reducing a significant amount of manual work by our operatives and subsequently cutting the amount of time required to finish a project.”
