Every year, NY Highways make a visit to LCRIG’s Innovation and Learning Festival, which showcases the latest developments in products, solutions, innovations and techniques from across the highways and transport technology sector.
This year, the event took place in Warwickshire on 2-3 July and was attended by NY Highways Operation Managers Ashley Beecroft and Ross Turner, as well Skilled Operative Mark Spearpoint.
They were joined by North Yorkshire Council’s Ross Waters (Project Engineer), Iain Summerson (Asset Management Engineer), and Kunal Swami (Project Engineer).
The team watched an array of demonstrations on innovative products and spoke to various businesses and local authorities about developments that could assist with highways maintenance.
Ross Turner said: “I found the event to be informative and great for networking with other local authorities. It was beneficial to see new innovations within the highways sector and I found the live demonstrations particularly interesting.”
Ashley Beecroft added: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the event, it gave us a great opportunity to interact with other local authorities and to see the latest innovations coming into the highways industry. There were several products that caught my eye, with one in particularly that addresses safety concerns, which I am keen to trial in North Yorkshire.”
