We’re proud to share that Jamie Keech, a Fleet apprentice at NY Highways’ Pickering workshop, has been named East Riding College’s Apprentice of the Year in the Scarborough and Bridlington Motor Vehicle category.
The judges were impressed with Jamie, who has embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine passion for learning. From day one, Jamie has demonstrated maturity and capability far beyond what is typically expected of an apprentice.
His managers say he is first to arrive in the morning and his cheerful and positive attitude has been known to lift team morale.
Jamie is always willing to go the extra mile, demonstrated when he stepped up during the recent devastating moorland fires in North Yorkshire. After completing his normal shift, he stayed late to help move vehicles between depots, ensuring resources were in the right place when they were needed most.
Jamie has demonstrated that he is not only an outstanding apprentice, but also an outstanding professional, making him a worthy winner for the Apprentice of the Year award.
Congratulations again to Jamie on this fantastic achievement!
